On September 6, Ethereum entrepreneur Vitalik Buterin responded to questions about his connection to Layer-2 projects on social media.
He said that all the profits he made from Layer 2 projects (an emerging field designed to increase Ethereum expansion and reduce transaction costs) will be donated to public utilities. Specifically, the funds will be used to support public interests in the Ethereum ecosystem or larger charities, such as biomedical research and development.
Vitalik Buterin also stated that he has no intention of investing in Layer 2 projects or other token projects in the near future. For Buterin, investment is not just for profit, but must also serve to support projects that he believes have real value, especially when these projects may be evaluated or not fully recognized in other parts of the blockchain ecosystem.
