The average bitcoin investor stays in profit

In mid-March of this year, the flagship cryptoasset reached the $73,800 mark, but from that moment a deep drawdown started. Against its background, the main digital coin lost more than 20%. At the current moment, bitcoin has steadily consolidated below the important psychological level of $60,000. But even taking into account this situation, the average investor still remains in the profitable zone.

This was reported by analysts of the Glassnode service. In their opinion, the majority of BTC investors are in a strong financial position. For the basis of analysis, representatives of the organization took the ratio between unrealized profits and losses. The specialists managed to find that the average profit is almost 6 times higher than the loss.

“On average, BTC investors incur relatively small unrealized losses compared to previous cycles. This suggests that the financial situation of traders is fairly stable,” Glassnode experts noted. Meanwhile, the global bullish trend has taken a pause. Now investors who hold coins in their portfolios for less than 155 days are experiencing the greatest difficulties in the face of price drawdowns.

It is this class of users who have been suffering the biggest losses since mid-March 2024. But, according to experts, these losses have not yet been realized. The fact is that short-term holders were able to accumulate a profit handicap. Consequently, they can afford to sit out the current drawdown.

As for the market situation, Glassnode did not rule out that in the near future the main digital coin will continue to lose in price. According to specialists, the quotes of the coin can leave not retest the $51,000 mark. Here there is a strong area of demand, behind which is hidden significant liquidity.
