According to TechFlow, on September 3, The Block reported that the centralized cryptocurrency lending platform Nexo has resumed accepting registrations from UK customers. The company has worked with Gateway 21, a financial promotion approval agency authorized by the FCA, to make a series of upgrades to the platform to meet the compliance requirements of the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The new measures include a cooling-off period, dedicated risk warnings, and investor classification questionnaires.
Nexo Chief Product Officer Elitsa Taskova said the company is committed to providing better services and educational resources for British customers. Previously, Nexo had suspended UK customer registration at the end of 2023 in response to the FCA's new crypto asset financial promotion regulations. The regulations will take effect on October 8, 2023 and aim to improve the transparency and accuracy of crypto product marketing.
