On September 1, a law on restricting the circulation of cryptocurrencies and mining came into force in Russia — the law contains a provision that makes a complete ban on cryptocurrency in the country real:

“The government-authorized body, in agreement with the Bank of Russia, has the right to establish a ban or restrictions on transactions with digital currency.”
