According to ChainCatcher, the Chicago Board Options Exchange (Cboe Exchange) submitted a revised listing application for spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF options to regulators according to two regulatory documents on August 28. The document shows that Cboe seeks to list options based on Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs issued by asset management companies, including Fidelity, 21Shares, Invesco, VanEck, Grayscale, Bitwise, BlackRock iShares and Valkyrie.

The proposed rule change would classify cryptocurrency spot ETFs as “securities suitable for options trading” alongside commodity-based ETFs such as the Goldman Sachs Physical Gold ETF and the iShares Silver Trust, according to materials in the Bitcoin and Ethereum options filings.
