ChainCatcher reported that according to Bitcoin.com, archived data as of August 24, 2024 showed that in the past three days, Foundry USA and Antpool have become the dominant forces in Bitcoin mining, jointly controlling 56.7% of the total network computing power. Foundry and Antpool have benefited particularly from the surge in fees this week, which has caused block fees to be much higher than usual.
As of now, the total hashrate of the Bitcoin network is hovering around 651 EH/s. Foundry has contributed about 215.79 EH/s in the past three days, and has maintained a strong hashrate contribution of about 199.02 EH/s in the past seven days. Antpool, which ranks second, contributed 153.55 EH/s in three days and 162.55 EH/s in seven days.
Back in January, Foundry’s hashrate contribution was 140.26 EH/s, and it has now grown by 75.53 EH/s. Antpool’s growth has been more stable, at 147.40 EH/s at the beginning of the year, but it has maintained its position as the second largest mining pool throughout 2024.
