On October 2, the market welcomed nine Ethereum futures ETFs, five of which track $ETH futures contracts, and the other four are hybrid products that track both $BTC and $ETH futures contracts. On the first trading day, the total trading volume of these $ETH futures ETFs was less than $2 million, with the largest fund, Proshares Ether Strategy ETF, trading $878,560.

Compared with the first-day trading volume of the first Bitcoin futures ETF, which exceeded $1 billion when launched at the peak of the bull market in October 2021, the first-day trading volume performance of these $ETH futures ETFs is relatively weak. However, Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas pointed out that the trading volume of these $ETH futures ETFs is actually “significant” compared to ETF launches in the traditional financial sector.
