Recently, a friend reached out to me, eager to explore the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain. Like many francophone Africans, she was looking for a quick and easy way to make money without putting in too much time or effort. She asked me some questions, and I advised her to do her own research to choose the best options for herself.
However, she seemed reluctant to invest time in learning and gathering information. Unfortunately, this is a common trend among many young people in francophone Africa today—they are seeking quick profits without putting in the necessary effort, which is a trap. If someone promises you easy money in cryptocurrencies without effort, it's likely a scam. It’s crucial to educate and inform yourself to secure your investment.
I recommended Binance to her, a platform I regularly use. Binance offers courses to better understand this ecosystem, provides a certain level of security for funds, and allows users in francophone Africa to easily purchase cryptocurrencies using local payment methods like mobile payments.
Despite this, my friend was hesitant to learn how Binance works and explore all the possibilities the platform offers. She was also unwilling to pay someone to do the research for her. If you can't afford to pay someone to do it for you, you need to do it yourself. Without doing so, you risk falling into scams.
When she asked me which cryptocurrencies to buy, I advised her to visit CoinMarketCap, choose from the top 100 cryptocurrencies, and study the projects behind them. Unfortunately, she found this too much work. However, it’s crucial to secure your investment by educating and informing yourself. Investing without analysis is like playing the lottery with hard-earned money.
Investing in cryptocurrencies should be based on research, understanding the projects behind each coin, and the trust you place in those projects. Even if an investment doesn't pan out, you'll know that you made an informed decision based on solid fundamentals. But if you invest without checking, you're just playing the lottery. Therefore, it is imperative to educate and inform yourself before diving in.
There are numerous articles, courses, and trainings, often free, that platforms like Binance Africa offer regularly. Participate in these events, whether online or at physical meetups, to gain the necessary knowledge for a secure investment.
