ChainCatcher reported that according to Bitcoin.com, Ripple's Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty recently talked about the possibility of the US SEC appealing the final ruling of the XRP case in an interview.

“If the SEC was a rational actor, they should have exonerated themselves from this case,” Alderoty said, highlighting the court’s conclusion that “there are no victims here, no one has suffered any losses in this case, there is no allegation of fraud.”

However, Alderoty expressed doubts about the SEC’s rationality, noting: “But we all know that when it comes to cryptocurrencies, the SEC has proven itself to be anything but rational.” He added: “In our case, the court criticized the SEC for engaging in litigation games and strategies rather than faithfully applying the law.”

Although he hopes the SEC will not appeal, Alderoty stressed: “I would not be surprised if the SEC appeals.”
