New malware, Styx Stealer, can steal cryptocurrency via clipboard

On August 17, according to Cointelegraph, the cybersecurity solution provider Check Point Research recently discovered a new malware called Styx Stealer. The software can steal a large amount of data, including stealing cryptocurrency through clipboard attacks.

Styx Stealer exploits a vulnerability in Microsoft Windows Defender that was patched last year, and can steal saved passwords, cookies, autofill data, cryptocurrency wallet data, and instant messaging sessions, while combining new detection evasion techniques and adding an encrypted clipboard function. However, the latest versions of Windows systems can defend against it.
