According to BlockBeats, on August 12, amid riots caused by controversial presidential election results, the Venezuelan government blocked access to cryptocurrency trading platform Binance, social media platform X, and other online services.
On August 9, the local anti-censorship organization VE sin Filtro posted that "it was detected that the DNS of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance was blocked, which affected the normal operation of its website and mobile application." Binance said that "like the websites of many companies in different fields in Venezuela (including social networks), Binance's page also faces access restrictions."
Binance assured users that their funds are safe, adding that it is “closely monitoring the situation in order to resolve the issue in the best and quickest way possible.”
