According to Odaily, security researcher Taylor Monahan, also known as Tay, has uncovered a new method used by crypto hackers to deceive victims into downloading malware. This malware grants hackers access to victims' computers, potentially draining their cryptocurrency wallets or causing other significant damages. Hackers impersonate recruiters from well-known cryptocurrency companies, offering targets salaries ranging from $200,000 to $350,000. Unlike traditional methods that involve opening malware-laden PDFs or downloading disguised video call software, this approach instructs victims to fix microphone and video access issues. Monahan warns, "If you follow their instructions, you're doomed."

The attackers begin by asking a series of lengthy interview questions, culminating in a final question that requires a video recording in "Willo | Video Interview." Victims encounter issues granting microphone and camera access and are told they have a caching problem, followed by a fake "solution." Monahan explains that the malware provides attackers with a "backdoor" to access the victim's device, potentially depleting their cryptocurrency funds. This malware attack affects Mac, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
