According to recent court documents, the government believes that Sam Bankman-Fried's claims are without merit and that the jury's verdict and trial outcome were reasonable, ChainCatcher reported.

SBF had asked the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in September to overturn the conviction, saying the trial was undermined by bias and procedural errors by Judge Lewis Kaplan, who he argued limited key defense arguments and evidence.

The government rejected those arguments, noting that SBF’s appeal failed to prove error or prejudice at the original trial, and supported the denial of its request to compel the garnishee to produce documents, saying the court acted correctly.
