**Crypto Hackers Capitalize on Market Crash**

Crypto hackers are seizing the opportunity presented by the recent market downturn to buy discounted Ether (ETH) using stolen funds. On August 5, 16,892 ETH was purchased with stolen cryptocurrency linked to the Nomad bridge hack from August 2022. This occurred as Ether's value plummeted over 20% in just 12 hours.

Blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain reported that the Nomad hacker used 39.75 million DAI to buy the ETH, subsequently moving the funds to the crypto mixer Tornado Cash to obscure their trail.

In a related incident, funds from the Pancake Bunny hack three years ago are also on the move. The hacker swapped stolen DAI for ETH amid market volatility but mistakenly sent 3.6 million DAI to a stablecoin address. This highlights the risks of sending tokens to unsupported wallets, which can lead to irreversible losses.
