Whales place limit orders on altcoins on centralized exchanges (CEX) to avoid slippage and ensure better prices. Unlike market orders, limit orders are executed only when a predetermined price is reached. Monitoring the volume of limit order quotes can reveal growing “buy walls” indicating preparation for an altcoin rally. Time to buy discounted altcoins will be limited once Bitcoin (BTC) reaches its all-time high (ATH)
