💸What is EIGEN token? EigenLayer staking protocol
📍EigenLayer is a protocol built on the Ethereum platform, introducing to the community a new concept called "restaking". Restaking is an important element in securing the digital financial system, allowing ETH to be reused across Ethereum's consensus layer. Users can choose to participate in EigenLayer smart contracts to hold ETH or liquid staking tokens (LST).
💰EigenLayer successfully raised 100 million USD from a16z on February 22. The project has just announced the application of the restaking reward mechanism of AVS networks for asset stakers (stakers) and operators (operators). The reward ratio is 90% for stakers and 10% for operators. According to the announcement, "at least" 4% of the total EIGEN token supply is allocated to the campaign in the first year.
⚠️ EigenLayer started accepting deposits in 2023 and has accumulated over 15 billion USD in capital to secure various protocols. These actively validated services can range from consensus protocols to oracle networks and data availability platforms.
