🇹🇭 Thailand distributes digital money to 45 million citizens to boost economy
On August 1, up to 45 million Thais will be able to receive 10,000 baht (~$280) in digital money. This amount is about 2/3 of the average monthly income in the country.
The digital wallet plan was an election promise of the Pheu Thai Party, which won last year. It will cost $13.8 billion and will distribute cash digitally to Thais aged 16+.
