What Happened with the Giant Ethereum Altcoin: It Was Said to Be Sold, But It Was Hacked!
Following the news that the giant Ethereum protocol would be sold, a version of it was briefly cyber-attacked.
dYdX (DYDX), the largest decentralized exchange that provides futures trading on the Ethereum network, announced via Twitter yesterday that one of its older versions, v3, was cyber-attacked.
dYdX, who said in the first statements that the platform should not be visited, made the following statements:
Please do not visit the website or click on any links until further notice. An update will be provided when available.
The v4 platform, which saw a transaction volume of $6 billion last week, did not receive any effect from the attack. The team announced that it had completely recovered the crypto exchange's website within three hours of announcing the breach.
Statements to be sold
The hack in question was announced right after Bloomberg reported that dYdX v3 was up for sale and that there were interested buyers, including major market maker Wintermute.
While this incident had a wide impact in the cryptocurrency market, the hack that came right after the news that it would be sold attracted attention.
