Merryn Somerset Webb, a senior columnist for Bloomberg, suggested that the new British Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, sell the country's 61,245 bitcoins (worth about $5 billion) to help "rebuild the UK." Most of these bitcoins come from Wen Jian, the suspect in the UK's largest bitcoin money laundering case.

However, RSM UK's accountants said that the UK must use civil recovery procedures to prove that Wen's assets were obtained illegally. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether these bitcoins can be confiscated by the state.

Webb also pointed out that "as long as international criminals use Bitcoin and are caught by the police, more cryptocurrencies may be seized."

What do you think? Should these bitcoins be sold? Welcome to share your views in the comment section! 💬
