On September 4th, @Polygon will transition its $MATIC token to the new $POL token.
This significant change is a crucial part of the Polygon 2.0 roadmap, which is designed to enhance the zero-knowledge-based layer-2 chain ecosystem.
If you are a $MATIC holder on Polygon PoS, the upgrade to $POL will be automatic.
However, those holding Matic on Ethereum, Polygon zkEVM, or centralized exchanges will need to upgrade manually.
This process may involve bridging, updating smart contracts or using a migration contract, depending on the specific case.
