According to TechFlow, on July 19, Polygon Chief Information Security Officer Mudit Gupta tweeted that a large part of the world's IT infrastructure is currently paralyzed, including emergency services, airports, and stock exchanges. The problem stems from a vulnerability in the latest version of Crowdstrike Falcon EDR, which causes Windows devices to crash and restart continuously. Polygon Labs also uses Crowdstrike, but was not affected because they test before deploying non-critical updates.

Mudit Gupta said he was puzzled that other companies supporting critical operations did not do so. In addition, he emphasized that even if Polygon Labs was affected in such an IT incident, the Polygon network would still not be affected because its network is decentralized.
