According to Odaily Planet Daily, FOX Business reporter Eleanor Terrett wrote in an article on X that former SEC Commissioner Paul Atkins is a popular candidate to lead the SEC's top transition team. Atkins is proficient in cryptocurrency technology and has a deep understanding of the internal operations of the SEC.

Atkins, who served as a commissioner and staffer under SEC Chairmen Richard C. Breeden and Arthur Levitt, is seen as someone who can enact an agenda that supports innovation and restore the "gold standard" that Republicans say disappeared under Gary Gensler.

With most of Trump's Cabinet picks already announced, the transition team will focus on filling federal agency positions, but the timing of those announcements is unclear.
