According to PANews, Ethereum's second-layer network Base posted on the X platform that it accidentally imitated the work of a digital artist when designing the One Billion Transactions commemorative collection on Zora, but did not indicate the source.

Base said it was sorry for this and would give all the proceeds to Chris Biron, while improving the process to ensure that similar situations do not happen again. Previously, Base announced that it had reached a milestone of 1 billion transactions per day and launched commemorative collections on Zora.

Digital artist Chris Biron pointed out that the collection copied and remixed his earlier works, and said that it was ironic that his original works were minted on the Base chain, and the Base commemorative collection was actually a "pirated" work.
