Odaily Planet Daily reported that CarnationFM was unveiled at the 2024 EthBerlin Conference. It was created by five hackers and a mentor as a defensive, decentralized and encrypted communication tool that enables private information to protect anonymity. The project won the 2024 EthBerlin Best Social Impact Award and focused on creating real-world use cases that take privacy factors into account after the Alexey Perstev verdict. In May of this year, Alexey Perstev, one of the co-founders of Tornado Cash, was sentenced to 64 months in prison. CarnationFM is decentralized because music is broadcast through swarm, a decentralized data storage solution that runs on the Ethereum blockchain. "Anyone can listen to music or songs, and anyone can download it, but only those who hold the public key can see the encrypted information," said MF, one of the co-creators. (CoinDesk)
