According to ChainCatcher, CoinStats released a new report on the security incident that occurred on June 22 due to unauthorized access to some infrastructure and third-party service providers. The report showed that the attacker managed to obtain the private keys of 1,590 CoinStats wallets, resulting in the theft of approximately $2.2 million worth of cryptocurrency.
We have determined that no connected wallets or exchanges were impacted, and as of July 3, 2024, all functionality of CoinStats has been fully restored and is now fully operational again. The full scope of the breach is currently under investigation.
ChainCatcher previously reported that Narek Gevorgyan, CEO of crypto portfolio management platform CoinStats, released a security incident update in which the total amount stolen from all wallets was approximately US$2 million, including two wallets that imported their mnemonics into the CoinStats wallet, with a loss of approximately US$800,000.
