🚨Attention! Several decentralized finance (DeFi) applications have been the target of a domain registration attack. The attacker took control of Compound Finance's DNS record and unsuccessfully attempted to do the same to the Celer network.

According to preliminary research from Blockaid, the attacker is targeting domain names provided by Squarespace, putting any DeFi application with a Squarespace domain at risk.

The attack was detected when the Compound interface on compound.finance began redirecting to a malicious website equipped with an application that attempted to steal tokens from users.

MetaMask, the Web3 wallet, is attempting to warn users about possibly compromised applications associated with the attack.

This is one of several attacks against the Web3 industry in the last year. What do you think about this incident? Share your opinions in the comments. 📢
