[New progress in the FTX case] Former executives reveal their crimes and ask for forgiveness. How will the legal trial be decided?

Two former executives of FTX, Nishad Singh and Gary Wang, will face legal trials later this year. It is reported that the two former executives played an important role in the conviction of their boss Sam Bankman-Fried.

Nishad Singh's trial date is set for October 30, while Gary Wang's trial is November 20. Meanwhile, the trial date for Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda Research, has not yet been determined.

Let's review the behavior of these two executives in the FTX incident.

First, Nishad Singh admitted that he had discovered that FTX had a funding gap of up to $8 billion, but he did not take any measures to correct the error or protect the interests of customers. It is still used for real estate, venture capital, political donations, and some high-risk transactions.

Second, Nishad Singh transferred FTX's deposits to Alameda Bank accounts. Nishad Singh’s crimes include failing to report funding loopholes to regulators and illegally misappropriating funds for investment.

Worse still, in 2019, he also opened a backdoor for Alameda Research, allowing it to directly access FTX’s funds, while also giving it some privileges, such as being able to withdraw funds in excess of its balance and collateral even if Alameda Research’s funds were negative.

Meanwhile, Gary Wang, one of the key developers of the FTX exchange, is also guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit securities fraud, conspiracy to commit commodity fraud, and wire fraud. In his testimony, Gary Wang also stated that FTX claimed to have a public insurance fund that was supposed to be used to deal with uncertain events and protect user assets. But in fact, this fund never existed and was completely fictitious.

Currently, both Nishad Singh and Gary Wang hope to avoid jail time by exposing these crimes. Their confessions will be judged by the law by the end of this year.

Given the actions of these two executives in exposing SBF's crimes, do you think they should be forgiven by the law or given a more severe prison sentence?
