Miguel Morel, CEO of Arkham Intelligence, a well-known on-chain data analysis platform, said that the platform plans to charge for some functions starting this year, but the core products will still be free for the public to use.

Miguel Morel said in an interview at the Ethereum community’s annual event “ETHCC”:

We could have started commercializing the platform months ago, but ended up not doing so because we believed that many more people could continue to benefit from our services.

When asked when commercialization would begin, Miguel Morel said it would be later this year. He stressed that the key goal is to get the platform to the right level of growth first.

From a vision perspective, I hope Arkham's main services remain free. Whether it's basic functionality like viewing entities, doing searches, viewing people's portfolios, etc., I hope these features will always be free.

He added that tools like APIs, visualizations or tracking are not required parts of the product, and the company may charge for these features in the future.

Miguel Morel mentioned that Arkham Intelligence is preparing to add support for the TON blockchain, which is expected to be launched in about two weeks.

In addition, the platform will also add support for the Solana blockchain, which is expected to be completed by the end of August. Integrating Solana would cost about $1 million a year, but the company received a grant to do the work, he said.

Thanks to the German government's massive transfer of Bitcoin and the widespread concern over Mt. Gox's repayment, the Arkham Intelligence platform has seen a significant surge in usage recently.

Miguel Morel said: "We actually built a unique product that meets a market need. The more people pay attention to it, the more impact it will have."
