China is the world leader in generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology use and investment, according to a new survey from SAS and Coleman Parkes Research. A survey of 1,600 decision makers showed that 83% of respondents in China use generative AI technology.

However, Stephen Saw, managing director of Coleman Parkes, noted that China's high adoption rates "do not necessarily equate to effective implementation or better returns". In the fully implemented generative AI space, US organizations lead with 24%, followed by China with 19% and the UK with 11%.

SAS chief technology officer Bryan Harris said every new technology goes through a "discovery phase" and organizations need to separate the hype from reality to understand how best to implement it.

China's interest in AI appears to be high. A report from the United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization ranks China first in patent applications related to generative AI. Between 2014 and 2023, the country filed more than 38,000 patents related to the technology, while the United States filed only 6,276 patents.

What do you think about this? How does China's leadership in AI technology affect other countries' progress in this field? We are waiting your comments.#AI#Blockchain #TechnologyNews
