According to TechFlow, on July 8, News 1 reported that an employee of South Korea's Woori Bank was arrested and indicted for embezzling 18 billion won (about 13 million US dollars), of which about 15 billion won (about 10.84 million US dollars) was used to purchase virtual assets.

The employee forged loan documents in the name of 17 clients, including individuals and companies, 35 times from July last year to May this year, applied for false loans, and transferred the loan amount to the accounts of acquaintances, totaling about 17.77 billion won. The prosecution confiscated 180 million won from the employee's residence and seized virtual asset exchange deposits, bank deposits, and rental deposits totaling about 4.5 billion won through freezing measures.
