Bitcoin falls below $55,000, expecting a "significant" sell-off in the coming months! $BTC

Bitcoin fell 6% over the weekend to $54,600, but it's still better than last weekend.

According to Decrypt data, the world's most popular cryptocurrency fell to a low of $54,000 on Friday and is now barely back to around $55,300.

Bitcoin is facing a lot of problems now. The market is unstable, and there may be pressure to sell from the German government. In addition, the 127,000 creditors of Mt. Gox are waiting to share the cryptocurrency after bankruptcy, which is a huge pressure.

The price tried to rush back to more than $58,000 before Sunday, but it fell again, hitting a new low since late February.

Speaking of Germany, they have 39,826 bitcoins in their hands, which is worth $2.2 billion at current prices.

Let's look at Mt.Gox. This Japanese exchange has been closed for more than ten years, and users are still waiting for them to return the $7.7 billion in assets lost in a hacker attack. I heard that they will start to pay back the money this month, mainly Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, which add up to hundreds of thousands of coins.

K33 Research said in the report that although it is unclear how much of this money will be sold on the market, Bitcoin will definitely be under considerable selling pressure.

Summer is a relatively calm time in the cryptocurrency market, but this year may be different. Because of the increase in supply and the fall in prices, if a large number of Bitcoins enter the market again, traders will have to be busy.

Let's look at the recent liquidation situation. Long positions evaporated $175 million, and short positions also lost $35 million, adding up to $210 million.

Ryze Labs, a company engaged in Web3 investment, said that in the second quarter of 2024, there will be a shortage of market liquidity, the balance of the Federal Reserve's reverse repurchase will surge, and the reduction in liquidity in China may also affect the world. The price of cryptocurrency is likely to fluctuate more.
