New plan for blockchain education in Lugano
The Swiss city of Lugano launched a new program called "Plan ₿ Biz School" at the beginning of the month to educate students about Bitcoin. The project is part of the City of Lugano’s Plan ₿ initiative in partnership with stablecoin issuer Tether to integrate Bitcoin technology into local financial infrastructure.

In addition to Biz School, Lugano and Tether also announced the “Plan ₿ Business Hub,” which aims to explore the potential of blockchain technology in business and cryptocurrency adoption. The center will house more than 300 blockchain experts and enthusiasts and promote networking and knowledge sharing by providing casual space for gatherings and workshops.
Lugano as a model for global cryptocurrency adoption
Lugano’s Plan ₿ initiative goes beyond educating students, it also showcases real-world applications of blockchain technology to benefit local businesses and communities. This initiative enables various businesses to use blockchain platforms to improve their operations, establishing Lugano as a model for global cryptocurrency adoption.
Plan ₿’s goal is to have a positive impact on people’s daily lives by expanding the use of blockchain technology and Bitcoin. This includes small transactions with local merchants as well as larger financial activities such as annual taxes. Additionally, a group of partners is establishing an investment pool worth over CHF 100 million aimed at promoting the development of blockchain and Bitcoin technologies and attracting businesses to Lugano.
Preparing for the future of blockchain
Local companies will receive assistance from a CHF 3 million investment fund to integrate Bitcoin, Tether and LVGA payments. In addition, more than 500 scholarships are planned to be distributed to college students to help prepare them for careers in blockchain technology. Public services in Lugano already accept Bitcoin, Tether ($USDT) and LVGA, while retail acceptance is also increasing. Currently, more than 150 stores and businesses accept these cryptocurrencies and offer 10% LVGA cash back.

Plan ₿ supports decentralized and sustainable mining of the Bitcoin network. This vision aims to establish Lugano as a leader in cryptocurrency adoption and education through research and development projects.
Plan ₿’s Educational Initiatives
Plan ₿ is an initiative launched by Tether and the City of Lugano to accelerate the use of Bitcoin technology as a basis for transforming the city’s financial infrastructure. The plan applies blockchain and Bitcoin technology to all aspects of the city, from small transactions with local merchants to larger financial activities such as annual taxes.
Additionally, Plan ₿ Biz School was established to promote blockchain education and train a new generation of business owners, students, and researchers. It is co-organized with the Franklin University of Switzerland (FUS), the University of Switzerland in Italy (USI) and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). It is expected to start from July 2 to 15 and last for 2 weeks. The total number of courses is about 60 to 70 hours.
The establishment of Plan ₿ Biz School and related plans show that blockchain education is urgent and Lugano, Switzerland, is committed to becoming a global center for blockchain education and application.
