The U.S. government holds the largest share of Bitcoin, with an estimated value of $12 billion, and the British government holds about $3.3 billion worth of Bitcoin. Germany holds about $2.2 billion worth of Bitcoin, and El Salvador has a $314 million Bitcoin treasury. The country became the first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender in 2021.
