ChainCatcher reported that according to Cointelegraph, the Nigerian government, through the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), announced plans to establish research centers in six geopolitical regions of the country, focusing on key areas including the Internet of Things, blockchain technology, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence and robotics.
In addition to funding research, NITDA also aims to support Nigerian startups in developing products using these emerging technologies. The agency plans to create an innovation sandbox to help startups develop use cases, build businesses and bring products to market.
