According to TechFlow, Polkadot developer community Oneblock+ recently submitted two proposals for the 2024 Asia-Pacific Polkadot Hackathon in OpenGov, planning to hold events in Singapore and Bangkok in the second half of 2024. 30% of the funds in the proposal are used for operations and 70% as bonuses. However, some DV representatives and DOT big holders objected, believing that the bonuses were too high.
Although community members spoke highly of the hackathon held by Oneblock+, the proposal still did not receive enough votes in support. As the only Polkadot DV representative from China, Oneblock+ firmly opposed rejecting the proposal on the grounds of "excessive rewards". Oneblock+ emphasized that investing in ecosystem builders and attracting top talent is crucial to the sustainable growth and innovation of Polkadot.
