What might be the biggest problem of ETH?
In this round of bull market, the industry's imagination seems to be slightly insufficient, lacking the kind of new creations that make users flock in. Looking back at 2017 and 2021, the imagination at that time was really surging! In 2017, we firmly believed that all corporate structures would collapse and turn to decentralized governance; in 2021, we believed that the world's finance would be reshaped, and art and trading methods would be subverted by NFT. This year, such imagination is obviously missing.
Sometimes the market is really amazing. Just like last year's SOL, it suddenly soared to hundreds of US dollars. At that time, no matter how you look at the ecological data, it was not worthy of this price. But strangely, with the rise of SOL, the ecological data has gradually caught up. The rise of the parent currency has pushed up the valuation and imagination of ecological applications, and began to attract users and funds to enter. Some people began to post memes, and various leading applications also confidently started to collect points and launched airdrops.
Slowly, everyone found that Solana's TVL has risen, and the transaction volume of DEX has occasionally exceeded that of the Ethereum ecosystem. This makes me a little confused: Is it the rise of SOL that helps the application, or the application of the ecosystem that helps SOL? The Ethereum ecosystem seems a little quiet at present. Could it be because ETH has not risen significantly yet?
Any development is spiral upward, stopping and starting, chasing each other. If the industry does not have the kind of super-imaginative innovation in the past, but presents an improved and iterative bull market, I think this is also normal. If ETH changes its normal state this time and is no longer the vanguard of the rise, I also think this is normal. Just treat it with a normal mind.
The old players are actually quite miserable. Their patience and efforts in the industry have only received the attention and support of a few people. Most of the new friends are pursuing overnight wealth, so they are more willing to chase new things and hype hot tracks. If this bull market is uncharacteristic, it’s also good.
