🚀The Central Bank of the Bahamas plans to require all local banks to accept the country's digital currency by 2026, despite its declining popularity.

🌐The Sand Dollar digital currency, launched in 2020, will receive significant support from this initiative. However, the reasons for the accelerated integration of CBDCs remain unclear.

📉Currently, the digital currency of the Bahamas accounts for less than 1% of the currency circulating in the country.

🌍The Bahamas is not the only one facing problems associated with the adoption of CBDC. Nigeria and Jamaica also report minimal use of their digital currencies.
