According to a press release published in PR Times, Amber Japan, a cryptocurrency trading company owned by Sony Group, announced that it has changed its name to S.BLOX Co. and plans to revamp its trading platform WhaleFin.

The cryptocurrency trading entity was originally Japanese cryptocurrency exchange DeCurret, which was first acquired in 2022 by the Japanese subsidiary of Singapore-based Amber Group. Quetta Web Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony, later acquired the platform in August 2023.

A press release issued by S.BLOX reads that the company plans to cooperate with other Sony Group businesses to create more value for its cryptocurrency trading services. This transformation of the WhaleFin platform includes a redesign of the user interface and the release of a new mobile app to make it easier to use. WhaleFin is also expected to further expand the supported currencies and functions after the transformation. The exact launch date of the new platform has not yet been announced.
