White hat hackers CertiK discovered a vulnerability in the balance calculation system and deposit mechanism of Kraken, allowing attackers to “double spend” funds. CertiK claims that they were only testing Kraken detection mechanisms, but continued to exploit the vulnerability even after discovery.
