Recently, under the guidance of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Jiefang Daily and Fudan University School of Economics jointly released the "2024 Shanghai WEB3.0 Innovation Ecosystem Construction Research Report" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"), which is also the first WEB 3.0 industry report in Shanghai. It is reported that the Jiefang Daily invited many experts from academia and industry to visit scientific research institutions and enterprises such as Shanghai TreeGraph Blockchain Research Institute, Shanghai Academy of Sciences Blockchain Research Institute, TRON, and CertiK to understand the development trend of the industry and listen to the opinions of industry experts. On this basis, the expert team wrote a research report.
Based on in-depth research, the report points out the challenges facing the development of WEB 3.0, including: the underlying technology is not yet mature, the concept lacks strong support; infrastructure construction does not match development needs; WEB 3.0 is difficult to integrate into the real economy, and the industrial chain needs to be improved; the risks are high and the supervision is insufficient; relevant industry standards need to be formulated. In response to these challenges, the report puts forward a series of suggestions.
The report believes that in the WEB 3.0 era, Shanghai can make achievements in the following six aspects: first, give full play to the advantages of Shanghai's digital economy and provide a solid foundation for the construction of the WEB 3.0 ecosystem; second, introduce special support policies around the WEB 3.0 field, and carry out WEB 3.0 top-level design and system construction; third, increase financial support for the development of WEB 3.0; fourth, actively promote the construction of the WEB 3.0 field standard system; fifth, create a WEB 3.0 industry ecological innovation highland; sixth, innovate the construction of the WEB 3.0 regulatory system.
When TRON was interviewed in the early stages of the report, it pointed out that the popularization of stablecoins and RWA is a development process that blockchain and encryption technology must go through. With the approval of the Bitcoin spot ETF, stablecoins and RWA will usher in a period of rapid development and drive the development of the entire WEB 3.0 industry.
When analyzing the challenges facing the development of WEB 3.0, the report once again quoted TRON's answer: "The current problem is that the industry barriers are too high. The heterogeneity of industry standards has brought difficulties to the construction of a convenient and freely circulated technology network."
In addition, TRON also provided relevant data and content support to the research team. The cooperation between the two parties in the research will help build a closer cooperative exchange relationship and promote the common development of both parties in the field of WEB 3.0.
