According to Cointelegraph, the latest software code of Elon Musk's X platform has been leaked, sparking rumors about the upcoming launch of the "X Money" payment system.
X is in the process of obtaining money transmission licenses for X Payments LLC in various US states, and has currently been licensed in 39 states. The code screenshot shows "X Money is not available in your state", sparking speculation that it may be launched without approval from all 50 states.
X Money will allow users to tip content creators, and there has been speculation that cryptocurrency could be involved, given Musk’s past openness to Bitcoin and Dogecoin.
X CEO Linda Yaccarino confirmed that X Money will be launched in 2025, but X has not yet confirmed the authenticity of the code leak and whether X Money will be launched soon.
