🇺🇸 Another "brilliant" launch under the Trump brand went off the rails
The Trump Mobile T1 project gathered around 590,000 pre-orders and approximately $59 million in deposits, but the smartphones never materialized 😶
The scheme was simple:
they promised a "patriotic" smartphone for $499, and to secure a spot, they asked for a $100 deposit.
The project was heavily pushed by Donald Trump's kids, and they built up an image of an "alternative to Big Tech" around the device.
But then the magic happened:
⚫️ The release date suddenly vanished from the website
⚫️ The pre-order terms were quietly rewritten
⚫️ Now, the money deposited no longer guarantees production or delivery of the phone
Essentially, people just handed over tens of millions of dollars based on a promise that could evaporate at any moment.
Ironically, the scheme looks almost like a classic crypto presale:
a loud brand, hype, collecting money upfront, and shady terms after the checkout 😁
Ps: Sometimes the only difference between a meme coin and a "revolutionary device" is the website's packaging.
