Odaily Planet Daily News: People familiar with the matter revealed that Apple has rejected a proposal from social networking company Meta Platforms to integrate its artificial intelligence chatbot into the iPhone. The report pointed out that the two companies have not discussed artificial intelligence cooperation involving Meta's Llama chatbot and only had a brief meeting in March. Discussions on potential cooperation have not yet entered the formal stage, and Apple has no active plans to integrate Llama into the iPhone, mainly because Apple believes that Meta's privacy protection measures are not strict enough. The decision came when Apple began to discuss deals to use OpenAI's ChatGPT and Alphabet's Gemini in its products. Apple unveiled its long-awaited artificial intelligence strategy at its annual developer conference in early June this year, introducing OpenAI's chatbot ChatGPT to its devices and integrating its new "Apple Intelligence" technology into its application suite, including the virtual assistant Siri. Apple and Meta have not immediately responded to requests for comment on this report. It is worth noting that the Wall Street Journal first reported the news of the negotiations between the two companies last Sunday, but the latest information indicates that, at least for now, the cooperation has not made substantial progress.
