Founder and CEO of Dell Technologies Michael Dell attracted the attention of the crypto community by hinting at a possible investment in Bitcoin. “Scarcity creates value,” he tweeted on June 21, sparking discussion about possible cryptocurrency investing. 🍪

Dell's latest financial moves confirm the possibility of such an investment. Dell Technologies shares have quintupled in value since returning to the public market in December 2018.

In 2024, Dell withdrew $2.1 billion, retaining 58% ownership of the company. This means he has free capital to invest in Bitcoin, especially against the backdrop of rising US debt, which could negatively impact the value of the dollar.

If Dell Technologies invests 1% of its cash reserves in Bitcoin, it could give them a significant advantage over their competitors. For example, if Dell Technologies allocated 1% of its $5.83 billion cash reserves to Bitcoin, this could increase the investment to $118.7 million in just one year.
