🚨3iQ has applied to launch the first Solana-ETF
Digital asset manager 3iQ has applied to register Canada's first Solana-ETF with the possibility of receiving staking rewards (6-8% per annum).
The listing is planned on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE).
Coinbase Custody and Tetra Trust will act as custodians of the product. The first will also provide the infrastructure for participation in staking.
3iQ currently operates 3iQ Bitcoin ETF (BTCQ) and 3iQ Ether Staking ETF (ETHQ), which trade on the TSE. The AUM of the first is $233 million, the second is $38.7 million.
Matrixport co-founder Daniel Yang previously expressed his opinion about the possibility of Solana becoming the next contender to launch an ETF. Standard Chartered's head of research, Jeffrey Kendrick, also predicted the introduction of an exchange-traded fund on SOL in 2025.
A similar point of view is shared by Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz.
Let us remember that JPMorgan doubted this scenario, citing the SEC’s interpretation of most digital assets as securities.
