Greg Benhaim, executive vice president of products and head of trading at 3iQ, said in a press release:

"3iQ is committed to setting the standard for excellence globally, and we are proud to work closely with the OSC to responsibly improve Canada's digital asset investment environment,"

The fund, called Solana Fund, will trade under the symbol QSOL if approved by the OSC. In addition to providing exposure to SOL price fluctuations, it will also provide exposure to staking returns generated by the network, which the company estimates to be approximately 6 to 8%. The product will be custodianed by Coinbase Custody and Tetra Trust, with Coinbase Custody providing exclusive institutional staking infrastructure for Solana funds.

Christopher Matta, strategic advisor at 3iQ, said in an interview:

“Our goal is to continue to push the limits of innovation and maintain Canada’s position as a hub of innovation. The Solana ETP will enable staking functionality, similar to our Ethereum ETP, allowing us to pass on returns to investors.”

However, it needs to be emphasized that the Solana financial products planned to be launched by 3iQ are not the first in the world. Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart said on
