Apple is putting its next-generation $3,500 Apple Vision Pro headset on the back burner as it pushes forward with long-term plans to launch a lower-priced version of the current device, ChainCatcher reported. Citing a component supplier, The Information reported that 460,000 Vision Pro units had been produced as of April, but orders through August suggest that only another 100,000 units could be produced even with expanded global supply. In fact, Apple has not prioritized a successor to the high-end Vision Pro over the past year, the report said, while accelerating work to reduce component costs for the first-generation model.
