ChainCatcher reported that according to The Information, Apple is putting its new generation of $3,500 Apple Vision Pro headphones on the back burner as it moves forward with long-term plans to launch a lower-priced version of the current device.

The Information cited a parts supplier as saying that as of April, 460,000 Vision Pros had been produced, but orders through August suggest that even with expanded global supply, only another 100,000 units can be produced.

In fact, the report states that Apple "has not prioritized a successor to the high-end Vision Pro over the past year" while accelerating work to "reduce component costs for the first-generation model."
