1) First, one of the strongest criteria is “depositing liquidity into DeFi protocols.” This amplifier adds thousands of ZK tokens.
So, on November 19, 2023, the zkSync Era network’s TVL unexpectedly increased by $44 million ($106 million to $150 million). Then over the next 3 months, it only increased by $17 million. On January 9, 2024, the TVL decreased by $40 million ($167 million to $127 million). Is this just a coincidence?
2) Another accusation about the airdrop is that wallets with no transactions are also eligible for the airdrop. There are a total of 12,725 such wallets. Some of them meet ridiculous criteria, such as "holding a fat penguin or Milady Maker NFT" and "claiming BONSAI Season 1 airdrop", while some wallets are completely empty and have no transactions (0x65f8dfc419b418ae82f289059d038428d038cd9a).
3) Finally, there is "decentralization". ZKsync frequently mentions "community" and "decentralization". However, 71,538 wallets received 15.6% of the total token supply (a total of 17.5% was allocated to the airdrop). In other words, there is no decentralization in the airdrop. A large number of tokens will be in the hands of a small group of people.
In addition, the distribution of tokens is also very strange. The exchange address Bybit received 52,816 tokens, and Orbiter Finance received 5151 tokens. Some larger projects in the ecosystem, such as WOOFi, Element NFT Marketplace, zkApes, Rollup.Finance, and zkPEPE, did not receive token distribution.
zkSync had plenty of time to do some quality wallet reviews, but they decided to do things their own way and even refused Nansen’s help. The most anticipated project of the past two years performed worse than a startup that didn’t receive any investment.
Some people spread rumors that KOLs received a large amount of airdrops, but the author said that the author has participated since the first testnet and only received 1155 tokens. And in more than 50 long pushes, the author was invited to participate in the ZK Success program, where the main reward was a role (without any reward).
In this case, the best solution is to reschedule the airdrop and revise all airdrop lists to completely correct all errors. In addition, the team should respond to all questions head on.
