Ethereum-based layer-2 network Arbitrum is preparing for a new move to support the gaming industry in its ecosystem.

Arbitrum Foundation will allocate 225 million Arbitrum (ARB) tokens, currently worth approximately $215 million, within the framework of the “Gaming Catalyst Program (GCP)” over a 3-year period.

While this initiative of the Arbitrum Foundation receives support from the community, it is expected that game developers and players will increase their demands for Arbitrum, as well as other assets of the ecosystem, Orbit and Stylus.

Within the scope of the Gaming Catalyst Program, grants of up to 500 thousand ARB will be provided to new and first-time developers. It was informed that this grant amount may increase to attract more experienced developers to the ecosystem. GCP will be governed by a 5-member council with expertise in gaming, venture capital, data analytics and DAO governance. Council members will evaluate the projects and will be responsible for ensuring that the program progresses in accordance with the target.
